What's New!

2/12/06 Updated the Directory with several new names. Also added a couple of place names to the Places page, and a new genealogy to the Genealogy Center page. I got a new computer in August, and my old one had several e-mails that I had been saving to add information to the site. Unfortunately, all those e-mails were lost. If you e-mailed me between 8/27/04 and 8/27/05, you may want to e-mail me again with the info you were sending. I appreciate your patience.

8/27/04 Well, I haven't been doing very well at updating. I added several names to the directory. I have also been in contact with Bernard Krijbolder and hope to add a bibliography he has compiled of publications to aid in researching various branches of our family name. I'll add that ASAP.

12/1/03 Wow, I am really sorry that I took such a long hiatus from working on all of my websites! It's been a long journey for our family these last few years and I allowed other things to take priority over the websites I manage. I promise to try to do better! I've updated the e-mail addresses and such so that I will be easier to contact. Also checked most of the links and made sure they still worked.

12/17/00 Added 11 more names to the directory today, in addition to others that have been added since August. Also, got the scoop on a place called "Graybill" in York Co., Pennsylvania--Thanks to Nancy Thomas!

8/13/00 Added more names to the Directory. We now have 76 names. Also added a story to the Stories and Legends page, about Edwin Krahenbuhl who became famous (well, a little famous) by being the first person to successfully turn back while trying to scale the Eiger mountain. Also in the Family Histories section, just a little background info about Peter Krahenbuhl (1674).

5/21/00 Added a few more new names to the directory.

4/26/00 Added 4 new names to the directory, and an entry to the message board, of an interesting e-mail I got from Germany.

3/8/00 I added 3 new names to the directory, and I'm slowly changing the site back to its old look...the new background was a little too casual. Please send any info you have about Krahenbuhl descendants' burial places, service in wars, etc. so I can add them to our newest sections!

2/14/00 You may have noticed a background change...I like to change things now and then. It's like moving the furniture around--gives me a whole new perspective. I'm working on adding a bunch of new stuff to the site that should hopefully make it a much more exciting place!

2/5/00 Four new people in the Directory, all marked with an asterisk. There's a new story on the Stories and Legends page, called "Joel's Millions."

1/17/00 I've added one name to the Directory, and updated Ancestral lines and e-mail addresses on a couple of others. The information on the Crabill book (Books and Publications of Family Interest) now includes an e-mail address so you can ask the authors if your line is included in the book, or exchange info with them.

1/3/00 I've added several new names to the Directory. To make the new ones a little easier to find, I've put an asterisk by their name.

12/2/99    Exciting new info about an unknown-to-us Dutch branch of the family. I was e-mailed by Gerjan Crebolder of Barneveld, Netherlands about this family, of which he is a descendant. He sent a scan of the Crest which I have added to the Crest page with the information he sent me. More info to come. As an aside, Gerjan mentioned that he found another place named Krahenbuhl, a small mountain in Switzerland, near Grindenwald.

11/99    About 7 new names added to the directory.

8/15/99    Wow, several months have passed since I got this site up and running again! My forms weren't working right, hopefully now they will be working. So if you've submitted your info and it didn't get put in the directory, please try again. Thanks for your patience.
Besides trying to get the form to work, I've also added a couple of names to the directory, and added several more interesting webpages to the "Other Webpages of Interest."

3/31/99    Well, I think we've finally arrived! Thanks so much to David Grabill, who had kept a complete copy of Gene's site on his hard drive so he could look at it off-line! All of the old pages are here now. The Directory of Family Members is here as well, and I've added a form that you fill out to get your name in the directory.

We can always use your input on the Directory of Family Members, and list of Other Web Pages to visit. E-mail me if you have a suggestion for the latter; just fill out the form to be included in the former.

Any other information you may have about any branch of the Krähenbuhl family is also wanted and welcome!

Thanks so much for your help!

Here are messages that were sent to Gene while he was running the site.
